We’re a very different type of company and one that people love being a part of.

A different approach to work

At Coastal we’re a team in the truest sense of the word. We value relationships highly, so we invest in them daily. As a result, our workplace culture is open, trusting and respectful. It’s also safe, which we think is pretty critical to encouraging new ideas and approaches.

We employ almost 300 people across south west Wales and we trust every single one of them to know, and do, their work in the way that gets the best results for residents, the local community and the planet.

If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, come join #TeamCoastal.

Current Vacancies

Sorry, we don't have any vacancies at the moment but please check back soon.

It’s a kind of magic*

Chances are you won’t have worked anywhere quite like Coastal before. We don’t impose rules on our people, instead everything from the culture to the office environment is designed to give people choices, work how they want, play to their own strengths.

Our teams are encouraged to experiment and innovate in order to find new ways of creating value for people, communities and places. And they do this really, really well.

At Coastal we think and act a bit differently. You can absolutely see and feel this but it can be kind of hard to put into words.

It’s a balance between the belief that anything’s possible and the discipline of remaining constructive, relevant and valuable throughout everything we do. Our approach doesn’t conveniently fit into an acronym or under a set of buzzwords. Instead we call it The Coastal Way and you can read more about it here.

*This is an actual quote about our workplace culture from an external company that had been working with us quite intensively for a few days. It wasn’t Freddie Mercury but it’s possible he’d have said something similar. 🙂

People love working at Coastal

We’re not making that up because it sounds good. 91% of our people would recommend Coastal to others as a great place to work. (Feb 2020)

Over 51% of our team have been with us for 5 years or more. We think that says a lot about our people feeling valued, respected and able to progress within the company as well as toward their own development goals.

We offer excellent terms and conditions, tailored towards employee health, wellbeing, flexibility and personal growth. These include:

Recruitment Process

If you’d like to join #TeamCoastal and we’ve posted a job you’re interested in, you can apply online 24/7 right up until the job advert closes. We post the time when applications will close as well as the date.

You can save your progress through our online application system so you don’t need to do the entire thing in one go.

Here’s a whistlestop tour of our typical recruitment process so you know what to expect:

  • Complete and submit the application form online before the closing date and time shown
  • We’ll review all applications and let you know whether or not you’ve been shortlisted
  • If you are, we’ll invite you to come and meet us for an interview – we include interview dates in the job listings where we can
  • Alongside interview, we might also ask you to complete some tasks or tests, depending on the role you’ve applied for
  • If you’re successful, we’ll make you an offer (hopefully one that you can’t refuse!)
  • Once you’ve accepted our offer, we’ll follow up your references and check your eligibility to work in the UK – if the role requires it, we’ll also carry out a DBS check
  • Once that’s all done, we’ll send you a contract and confirm your start date
  • Welcome to #TeamCoastal! There’s a 6 month probationary period from your start date and your manager and HR will support you throughout.

We always make time to talk

If you’d like to have a chat about a current job advert there will normally be a contact name and number included for the best person to speak to.

You can also contact our lovely HR team by completing the form below.

Whilst you’re welcome to contact us through Facebook or Twitter, please be aware that these are managed by our Customer Service Team not HR, so any message sent via these platforms may take longer to reach them.

If you experience any technical difficulties when applying online, please contact our support helpdesk via email; support@reach-ats.com this is open 24/7 every day (with the exception of Christmas Day)
