Working safely in your home - Coastal Housing Group

It’s important that we carry out gas safety checks annually in each property where boilers are fitted to ensure they’re operating safely.

These checks are required by law and it forms part of your tenancy agreement that we do them. It should also give you peace of mind that your home is safe for you and others.

Checks can be done safely by engineers whilst maintaining a 2m distance from residents. Our engineers will only be in your home for between 20 – 30 minutes.

Residents can help keep our engineers and themselves safe by opening and closing the door for our engineers, ventilating the area by opening windows and moving into another room for the duration of the service.

The engineer will only touch the areas they need to work in and are happy to wear face masks and gloves to help keep everyone safe. The engineer will also ensure they sanitize the area they are working in before and after the service.
