Alun Williams

Chair

Alun is the Chief Executive of Swansea Building Society a position he has held since May 2001. Prior to that he spent 20 years in retail, business & corporate banking starting with Williams & Glyns Bank Plc and subsequently Bank of Wales Plc. Alun is one of only three people in the whole of Wales authorised by the Bank of England to run an independent Mutual Building Society.

He brings financial, analytical and property development skills to the Board of Coastal Housing Group and also acts as its Chair.

He joined the board to utilise the skills that he has developed over his long career to put something back into the community where he lives and works by helping Coastal achieve its goals to provide quality housing in their core geographical operating area.

Alun lives in Swansea and is married with two grown up sons and maintains a very keen interest in sport, holidays and walking.
