Amy Barrett

Vice Chair of Homes, Investment & Sustainability Committee

Amy is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, qualifying with a public practice firm of Chartered Accountants. Having spent 13 years working with a diverse range of private commercial businesses as well as charities, Amy moved into the housing sector and joined United Welsh.

After 19 years at United Welsh, Amy retired from her current role as Executive Director of Finance. During this time the association doubled in size and Amy gained extensive experience in development and associated treasury funding. She was heavily involved in setting up two subsidiaries and in the general growth of the group’s activities including setting up a factory making high-quality, sustainable timber frame structures under Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). Of the 19 years – two were spent seconded as a Financial Analyst working with the Welsh Government Housing Regulation team, a role which enabled Amy to familiarise with the sector throughout Wales.

Being passionate about the housing sector and wanting to utilise the extensive skills and experience gained whilst working in housing, Amy is extremely excited to join Coastal’s board.

Previous board memberships have included Care & Repair Caerphilly and Smart Money Cymru.

Amy lives in Cardiff and is an active walker and yoga enthusiast and has recently taken up Tai Chi.
